Hello Joe_WiDi guru_Intel,
My System:
Asus N56VZ Intel 3rd gen. core i7-3720 QM Intel HM-76 chipset Widows 8.1
dual graphics:
Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver ver. 10.18.10.3308
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
Intel Centrino Advanced N-6235 dual band wireless adapter driver ver. 15.10.5.1
This is most frustrating, the Asus N56VZ was upgraded to the N-6235 by myself, and the folks at Xotic PC in Nebraska assure me that it can be done with full functionality of the N-6235. They would not let me in on their secret however. After a week of messing with this I found and read all of this thread. I removed and replaced all drivers in correct order, rebooting at each step. While installing the graphics driver, a message popped up stating that the driver had been customized by the OEM and that I should go to the OEM website to obtain the driver. This is what I did as the Intel disclaimer said that when available drivers should be downloaded from your manufacturer. The read me note in the file indicated that the driver was a production version from Intel with a release date of 9-20-13. I learned from this site to switch my wireless signal from 5 GHz to 2.5 GHz. After doing this I was finally able to detect my Netgear NeoTV 300SL connect and get my computer displayed on my TV. The only problem now is no sound and I can't play my dvd/Blu-ray thru WiDi. The WiDi Audio Device driver version is 4.5.23.0 and in the Control Panel under Sounds the sound bars for this device are functioning and flashing up and down in green. No changes in the audio on the TV worked as well. Any help with these issue will be much appreciated. I am determined to get this working properly.
Also three separate questions 1.) In the thread you mentioned that to use with 5GHz it is necessary to use non-DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) channels. What is this please explain. 2.) The issue of downgrading from 60hz to 30hz in Windows 8.1. Is this a Microsoft problem or an Intel problem or something you can work on together. Really needs to be 60hz. 3.) At some point during this process I noticed a new device in Device Manager and that is Microsoft WiFi Direct Virtual Adapter. Any ideas about this?
Thank you.
