The switch is used only to set into a LOW state the PWRBTN input pin. You couldn't include the switch in your design, that's no problem, however you won't be available to use the PWRBTN features I pointed you in my first reply.
Now, since the PWRBTN pin is activated with a LOW signal, you have to keep it connected to a HIGH signal to avoid the PWRBTN to be active. To do this you have to connect the PWRBTN pin to VSYS using a pull-up resistor. I think a 10k resistor is fine.
