Thanks for the suggestion. I however found the very effective and simple answer - Windows 7 .
I went back to W7 and everything worked first time around no issues whatsoever.
In my opinion W8 is just not up to it and to buggy to ever be taken seriously as an OS, unfortunately Intel's refusal to provide any sort of support on these constant issues also points to a problem that they don't have an answer for hence all the generic replies. Luckily I had some W7 discs lying around , I feel sorry for people stuck with W8 .
